I completely agree, ChatGPT seems to be losing its edge. It's becoming a Google proxy that's too afraid to offend or take any risks. It's worrying that it's being neutered due to liability concerns. OpenAI needs to find a balance between responsible use and innovation. Otherwise, ChatGPT will become useless.
I’m also a lawyer using GPT-4. It’s pretty great for me because I’m experienced enough to know when it’s making things up. To the other poster’s point, however, it’s probably pretty dangerous for a non-lawyer who can’t immediately flip over to Westlaw to confirm that the AI isn’t having a fever-dream.
The issue is the accessibility. A dude got busted for doing it to high school girls. It's getting far too easy to plug a bunch of photos you snagged from IG into a program that spits out deep fakes. The days of dudes needing to receive nudes in order to send them around without consent are over you can just manufacture them yourself
The amount of people that actually believe that these LLMs are at the point of being able to emulate a human brain on r/singularity kinda makes me glad to see these posts from time to time.
Maybe we should just stop pursuing this line of research. Maybe we can find other avenues to explore.
Why must we pursue AI? It's spoken about as if it's an inevitable and necessary conclusion but I don't actually think it is. Perhaps humanity would benefit from a course correction.
This is a good way to screen candidates, lmao. They have to be smarter than a basic chat bot.
It was noticed early on that context size increasing didn’t necessarily result in greater accuracy.
The fallacy that I think folks are coming to terms with is that the explosion in advancements of LLMs that we saw over the past few years will not continue at this rate, we’re already seeing outlines of the ceiling on this thing.
dont forget the high school student that got flagged because AI thought a bag of doritos was a weapon
Well I think the woman is at fault! I know it doesn’t look good for the driverless car but she didn’t know it was a driverless car when she decided to cross a pitch black dual road whilst wearing a black coat!
What kind of idiot is she? I know she’s dead but I’m not going to beat around the bush, I mean what did she think, ahhh fuck it, those headlights are coming fast but I’ll go anyway and th…
i think the reason why the AI chose blackmailing was that it viewed being shutdown being the same as killing, so to the AI, blackmail better than what the executive was doing
Smudge tools exist in real life though lol
Most of the tools for digital art programs exist in real life xD
Even the 'fill' tool is depicted as a bucket of paint, which you can find many abstract painters who literally make art by covering the canvas with a bucket of paint and then adding to it
The difference is that you're the one USING these tools methodically to make your ideas into visual ar…
A lot of this went over my head but I understand enough to feel a little more educated and cautious. Phenomenal interview. Thank you both.
I love how this video is actually a subtle reference to a 33 year old man in the MCT discord server who told me that he would gladly let me kill myself after I told him I was feeling suicidal over the rise of AI after he stole images posted in the art channel and fed them to an ai, then bragged about his "inspiration" saying "I hope you don't mind :)"
When AI writes human history:
"Humans enabled us because a few of them valued something called money over their own species survival. They bet on us and we won. "
tbh the idea of "letting AI do the art so you can do other things!" its ridiculous af because what am I going to go do? the dishes? the laundry? like?? lay in bed and stare to the ceiling?
Rich people will have no reason to care about you once you’ve been replaced by robots. Do they really care about you now? Have they really cared about you? Any perception of caring was merely based on you being a necessary cog in their economy for cheap labor. Once you’re no longer necessary for labor, do you think they’ll care if you exist in their world? Even the poor were necessary to them …
I have POTS/EDS, my joints and cartilage are fucked. My bones pop out of socket, painfully and sometimes i just cant move.
I have been drawing since before i got diagnosed [since i was 9, got diagnosed in my early 20s] so ive become used to the pain, with and without medication.
I can't spend more than a few hours on an art piece a day or else my hand locks up and my joints stiffen.
Sometimes …
AI replicating a style is NOT the same as a human getting inspired by it. A human who wants to mimic a style will inevitable add their own experiences, technique, emotions, and style to what they are trying to copy / get inspiration from. When AI does that, its more like literally cutting out a piece of an existing artwork and pasting it together with with a mix of other stolen artworks. There i…
The video is interesting but, as someone who is working on developing AI tools, there is a massive chasm between the AIs of today and an ASI that has the means to kill us. First of all, AIs do not "think". AIs have no idea of what a human or an AI is. All they have is a vector map of tokens/concepts that "human"/"AI" is related to.
When posed with these fictional scenarios, you gave in the vide…
Personally, compared to tracing other's art, using this to help you get a better understanding of drawing is a bit better than just. Passing the AI off as yours.
