Rich people will have no reason to care about you once you’ve been replaced by robots. Do they really care about you now? Have they really cared about you? Any perception of caring was merely based on you being a necessary cog in their economy for cheap labor. Once you’re no longer necessary for labor, do you think they’ll care if you exist in their world? Even the poor were necessary to them in order to produce goods and services—for cheap. If you are no longer necessary to their life, they won’t give a crap about you. We will be left to our own devices—for food, for water, for shelter, for protection, for medicine, for energy. That would be the best scenario. Are you ready to handle that? The worst scenario is that they create other problems in order to quickly “dismiss” us. Perhaps they’ll keep some around for lab rats to test their new AI medicines or hardware, so they could live longer.
