The reason that music artists are so protected is because of record companies being bullies. Metallica fucked up copyright irreversably in a way that's scarier than AI, which legally technically isn't even truly copyrightable! I hope eventually they wake up to this and hit the reset button.
These current models aren't it but I worry that any attempts at copyright "reform" that come from this will be worse for an young artists than what we're already seeing with the AI stuff. Going from no one wanting to draw because of AI, to no one wanting to draw because of DMCA claims targeting human made works.
