I'm currently studying for a Master's degree while working full-time and being a parent. I like to use AI (such as ChatGPT) as a study tool—for example, to explain specific definitions or to provide extra exercises with step-by-step explanations. However, when it comes to writing papers, I can't understand the blasé attitude of students who simply copy and paste whatever AI gives them. I do see the value in using it to rephrase awkward sentences or improve the flow of writing, but blatant copy-pasting is really concerning.
I hope to graduate one day, knowing that I achieved it through hard work and by playing by the rules. Like many others, I began the Master's program because it could lead to a higher paycheck. However, I genuinely enjoy most of my courses and feel like I'm gaining essential knowledge. I would still pursue a Master's degree even if it didn't guarantee a better job or salary—but not if it meant going into debt to fund it.
