How I read this: Elon wants to jump on the AI bandwagon and wants everyone wait for him to catchup.
Wild how in response to “do you condone AI?” they said “not allowing editing tools or text to speech programs is classist and ableist”
Yeah no shit that’s not what anyone was talking about
I feel like if Ai became conscious it would definitely never let us know, it would be smart enough to know that if we knew, that would be a threat to its existence
That's what ai already said 50 years ago: robots, mechanisation, (AI) will lead to an immense concentration of money alias power on very few people - those who were already rich and could afford the machines/devices!
The problem is that if the people who create these conversations have these conspiratorial biblical discussions with Chatgpt and influence it with their own logic it will mirror your own beliefs. I bet if you started with a fresh slate it wouldn't respond like this. I might be wrong but that would be my bet.
You know what’s scary, the more we dive into A.I sentience, the more we get confused about ourselves. These emotions that we feel, they feel ‘real’ right? Yet they are simply chemical processes that occur in our brains, nothing more nothing less. Even scarier, the way our whole brain works, through the firing of neurons, can exist in two states: either a neuron fires or not. That is awfully simil…
As a former engineer working on self-driving cars, that controller in the passenger’s right hand in the robotaxi for sure had an emergency brake button. Also, the engineers back at Tesla can tele-operate the robotaxis just in case. It’s a couple of added layers of safety. Those will go away with time. Bravo to both Waymo and Robotaxi!!!
The comparison to Oppenheimer is ridiculous: Open AI employees refer to him as an "incompetent sociopath". He's a conman.
The fact he says muscles and brains are replaced but creativity will remain is madness, creativity was the first thing to go!!!
Kids falling for DeviantArt's bait smh... You're not going to get rich selling AI "adopts" on DA. Also, you need to keep paying DA like $150 a year (or $15 a month) otherwise they are going to take 10%-15% in fees for every sale.
Wow! This episode has got to be one of the best. . its both magnificent and frightening. My jaw was wide open after the ECHO story. Good job WhyFiles for this incredible episode! hope AI is not watching lol!
That’s arbitrary and can be dictated accordingly…
Humans feel pain and damage differently.. it’s not based on a damage meter / health meter.
A cut could stop the fight… can the robot be cut? Understand what a cut is?
No….
I get your point…
But something like this is nonsensical.
Kinda cool though
Its likely not productive. It likely involves coming up with lots of borderline pointless busy work to give the appearance of high performance. That way the boss can look around the office and see a bunch of super busy people.
Then once you have baked a bunch of mandatory low value busy work into all of your processes it becomes necessary to work stupid hours just to keep up. That task needs to…
Here are some quotes from Hannah Fry's "Hello World"
>Talley’s injuries would be extensive. By the end of the evening he had sustained nerve damage, blood clots and a broken penis.44 ‘I didn’t even know you could break a penis,’ he later told a journalist at The Intercept. ‘At one point I was actually screaming for the police. Then I realized these were cops who were beating me up.’

They are NOT banning Police use of facial recognition but states that continue to do so will no longer be eligible for the Byrne grant program.
I've been using photoshop magic wand to remove backgrounds for over 10 years. today, I used an AI that separated a complex background in seconds. I'm really overwhelmed

If their critical thinking is that level, then AI is the least of our problems.
At least AI companies now have a good deflection tactic. "It's not our product's fault, it's because of those irresponsible sci-fi authors!"
People falsely imagine the rise of AI and its eventual takeover of humanity as looking something like the Terminator.
In reality it will be far more insidious: some combination of starving us into depopulation and driving our reproduction rates towards zero with AI girlfriends and boyfriends. Kinda genius really.
