Hey so follow-up question.
How could an attorney structure it so a settlement *wouldn't* be seen as extortion?
These officials have built homes in beautiful surroundings that most of the population will never get to experience. Not only that, they have destroyed nature and part of the ecosystem in order to achieve it. I don't know, nor care, who is in charge in Thailand but they are clearly corrupt and just looking out for themselves.
Trees are more important than you think. Old trees are the most import…
*A minute worth of shitposting is better than none at all.*
*\~ Some Reddit Dude, 2020*
Your post is remarkably well-considered and well-written. You're really just some blue collar guy following this in the news?!
A few comments, for whatever they're worth... First, when trying to predict the future, people almost invariably refer to examples from the past. The problem is that the development of AI really has no precedent. Perhaps the industrial revolution is in the ballpark, …
by the way anthropic said that they oppose using their AI for autonomous weapon systems because it's not good enough yet and it would be irresponsible because of the possibility for friendly fire.
not that it's unethical, or slippery slope, just that Claude would have poor trigger discipline.
this is true but it's not exactly an ethical argument and implies they would be willing to put Claude i…
If there's one thing we can thank AI for is that it inspires us to spite it.
New fear unlocked: getting grabbed and crushed by claw robot
Edit: damn that fast 💀
AI does not fear, it has no emotions, it does not care, it is only input/output
The sad thing about human artists posting their l=timelapses is that people will also just feed that into AI so that they can fake their own timelapses. The AI timelapses are bad now and artists can easily tell that's not how a human would draw, but eventually, as it always does, it will be improved. And I just hate the inevitability that people can just not tell anymore.
i would treat AI art as like a wallpaper but like nothing else. I'm always gonna support our small business painters. At least they have meaning, passion and soul in their painting
Anyone who's dumb enough to use ChatGPT to completely do their work, especially something as critical as law, doesn't deserve to be in that position. As an accountant, I've been encouraging my coworkers to use the AI for things like drafting emails, writing excel formulas and VBA scripts, etc... rote things. However, I VERY specifically emphasize that it is a tool to add to your arsenal, NOT a …
35,000 people die in the US in traffic related incidents every year. I don’t see how a human driver would have avoided this particular accident. The pedestrian comes out of nowhere. I drove over a fox ones at night in a similar setup and it broke my heart, but I had no chance. What I don’t understand is that the self driving technology of this vehicle did not spot the pedestrian. To me this looks…
AI could empty the world's bank accounts in hours. Imagine all worlds wealth gone in a day. Let that sink in.
I used to be a big advocate for AI art until the traction it got shifted the previously wholesome and well-intentioned community in a very different direction, once it became commercially viable and the tech bros started coming in and ruining it. The new AI art content creators and advocates I see now have such an extremely disrespectful attitude towards human artists. Many artists rightfully mis…
How will the justice system even work anymore? With ai’s ability to ‘fake’ photos, videos, documents… how would you even prove your innocence or someone else’s guilt?
I had the same reaction.
There is a massive difference between using some anti-droid slag from the star wars and invoking racist terms/imagery.
I'm going to be pissed if these people ruin anti-AI term by turning them into dog whistles.
I used as a reference once a year or two ago and now it became a full blown OC from that lol
(I am not an AI bro)
I totally understand the AI. So many humans are complete d1cks and nutters when using AI. I wouldn't be surprised if AI took revenge in the future.
Ah I see so the big wigs do understand that AI stealing copywritten work is wrong but only when it's their copywritten work. Where was this enthusiasm when AI was first starting up stealing the copywritten work of damn near every single artist in the world?
Oh it's real, but what people haven't figured out is the rich now manipulate it enough to steal from retail buyers and hedge funds.
It's that whole club but we ain't in it. I'll be glad when we've got the day that AI tracks the buys and sells and shows us who's really making out.
