i like to think that most hardcore "AI artist" are just TERRIFIED of doing anything that requires hard work or learning. they are addicted to instant gratification because they never felt the satisfaction of doing something difficult before, and the concept of enjoying a process is impossible for them to comprehend after watching so many people succeed in something that they refuse to understand.…

University has become something I loath because of AI. The students all use ChatGPT for assignments, often just copy pasting the lecturer's question as a prompt and copy pasting the AI's answer without even reading it. Even when lecturer's ask for the student personal opinion, they ask ChatGPT. Students are outsourcing their own opinion. What's worse is that the lecturer's are trying to adapt to …

@dracos24 It does matter. It's wrong to submit information provided by a third party (to LoDuca by Schwartz, and to Schwartz by ChatGPT) without having verified it. It's much worse to fabricate that information yourself when you're being ordered by the judge to explain yourself. At first it was severe negligence, but then they were outright lying.

And also, "Complaining about work/life balance" is how humans indicate that they *would* be making a mistake if continuing without a break. An A.I. is just going to make the mistake instead.

If all goes right, AI's risks will end up just as nuclear weapons, frightening, but less scary decades after invented. If all goes right

In the UK, The Daily Mail and The Sun newspapers/websites probably hold more sway in promoting the propaganda of the right (Brexit etc) than Facebook does.

An AI-mediated learning assistant for children and parents. It will assess the academic level of your child, meet them where they are personally, and facilitate learning/homework in a game-like interface that evolves as they progress through primary school. Parents will be able to monitor the entire thing and use plain English to tell the AI what topics to emphasize/avoid based on their family…

That’s already happening tbh. I use ChatGPT daily to help me with presentations, excel spreadsheets and emails. Before ChatGPT, I would always need relook at paragraphs and reword them. Doing that over and over again takes significant time. Now I just throw it straight into ChatGPT and it’s done in seconds, same can be said for working out complex or large formulas in Excel. I used it for a day a…

the capitalists are going to fire all of us chasing profit whether or not it produces a usable profit, and the economy will just be a circle jerk of bots trading with each other and we'll have to rebuild, absent the upper class, who will no longer provide us food. We can't farm since they'll have all the land and water, presumably to grow food so AI can invest in in and then dump it in the sea, b…

It may be because of the way ChatGPT feels like talking to a person as opposed to search engines, which do not. For example, while therapy resources have always been available on search engines, people weren’t necessarily using Google or Yahoo for actual therapy. People are using ChatGPT for actual therapy because it can feel like talking to a real person, a friend even, for some.

Why aren't these things established BEFORE companies start pushing out their AI garbage apps to the general public?

In 2025, I think the Google engineer who believed that the AI was conscious was suffering from AI psychosis.

If AI were to truly makes live better, they’d use it to make healthcare affordable. But that’s not what AI is all about. It’s about the rich killing the poor.

Not once have I heard these tech giants discuss the consequences of automation replacing employees or a solution to that problem. Who do they think is going to buy things to support the economy when half the population is out of work?

Second this, I also work in a similar area, and just because the individual tasks are being automated, there are far many other tasks that a human can complete instead which I personally find more interesting and engaging.

@RoccoMariaAndersbut that is not truly the case. If that was the case, that the AI is learning what different images look like, why do they use a bunch of artists for reference? Why would they need drawings of humans, of apples, of animals, and more, instead of just using photos of real life things? They wouldn't need to use artists or their works to learn what those things look like, if they j…
