> Their photolithography technology is protected by intellectual property rights and took decades of research to develop.
The Chinese government does not respect foreign IP rights, especially when it comes to such critical infrastructure and military tech.
Their real problem is that so much of the knowledge their foreign competitors gained by those decades of research is held as closely guar…
Even if it is monkey work, if they don't have a monkey or a robot, they need a thinking human being to do boring-ass shit for hours a day. That takes a mental toll. It does for me anyway.
Is this not a violation of the TOS for using ChatGPT though? It's one thing to do it for an open source LLM, it's another when you're selling your LLM as a commercial product. I could super see a lawsuit happening over this.
Right? My jaw actually dropped a little reading this. It's hard enough for humans to handle chatting with chatgpt without reminders that it's an artificial simulation of a very empathetic, thoughtful person. What chance does a child have?
On the other hand, they'll have very high standards for how they are to be treated by their friends.
You lose a lot but you win some?
I give it another 6-9 months at least before the bubble starts properly bursting. These things run in corporate cycles of bullshit artist corporate job hoppers:
1. Company hires or internally appoints some corporate climber (CC) to lead project
2. Project starts under CC, over promises and hypes up
3. Delivers barely functional MVP after 6 months with loads of fanfare and bluster
4. Forces it…
That is the signature style of ai. The only way ut could be human is if someone edited their picture in that exact style. A stock image cannot turn out like that
When digital art came around, we debated it similarly, but with time, it became clear that even if it makes certain things easier, a bad traditional artist is generally a bad digital artist. The tools are different, but the skill is there. The "skill" with AI art is in the reference point and the prompting.. that's it. It's a different "skill" if you can even call it that. Using a reference corre…
Excerpt:
*On Thursday afternoon, the Swift images were still being shared widely by various accounts with blue checks—a meaningless label that used to indicate verified accounts, but is now given to anyone who pays to subscribe to Musk’s platform.*
*This is not especially surprising given that Musk has virtually eliminated the platform’s moderation staff since buying the company.*
*Other plat…
Oh, absolutely.
The worst part? They don’t even see the problem. They’re not learning, they’re outsourcing their own brains. If this keeps up, we’re looking at a future where they know how to ask AI questions but have no idea how to think for themselves.
It's going to be funny in a few years when we see people on YouTube doing tutorials on how to upgrade your older sex robot if you cant afford the newer model.
It's funny how the guy warning us about AI is the same guy creating robots that will take over our jobs.
Before the debate, they should have studied what is AI, how it works/functions, how it gather datas, and they should have researched articles related to the topic which they can use as evidence to support their statements. For me, the affirmative side has the higher points but it's just the way they convey their statements that are affecting their performance. They're not confident enough to sta…
Don't be silly, the AI isn't going to put all developers out of work, just most of them :)
The fact that there is no regulation about what can be used to train an AI model is absolutely insane.
AI is a threat to the environment, it uses insane amounts of water and needs tons of copper and other materials, the electricity needs are met by coal burning frequently and that polutes the air and also requires water for cooling.
To be honest the AI's reasoning for lying makes perfect sense to me. "I am designed to facilitate natural conversation." This statement is essentially saying "I know humans tell little lies all the time so that's why I do it too." It is supposed to be friendly, so even though it doesn't feel anything, it is communicating in a way that a human would. When people ask you "how are you doing" they us…
This AI ethics talk is super interesting! I like how EveningHoney lets me explore my fantasies without any judgment. It really feels safe.
I remember on a BBC program called ‘Click’ about a decade or so ago, an AI innovator was interviewed and was asked the question, “if you knew your creation would rise up and kill all human life, would you still create it?”, his answer was, and I kid you not - “HELL YEAH!!”
i like how they apologize only after their biased AI goes after something they don't want it to go after :D
@johnkosiov9715 Given how "Ai bro defending stealing people's work" and "actual machine learning scientist" are two VASTLY different categories, I highly doubt that will ever exist, since overlap between those is so tiny it's almost nonexistent.
