@laurentiuvladutmanea yes they do. illusionistic 2D art is in itself a "chemical algorithm" in our brains, that is how machines learned it. I'll give you an example on execution (not concept). The zoom feature on an iPhone. It's a digital zoom. It has to interpolate data. (make it up) does it just make edges blurry, inserting pixels of inbetween value? No, it keeps edges crisp, but changes the contour. it follows the algorithm of old master painters, painting "light on top of dark". In the iPhone digital zoom, the lighter a shape is, the more convex its edges and overall shape. the darker an element or shape, the more concave its overall shape. This effect kind of duplicates how someone like Rubins or Rembrandt or Velazquez painted, or many of the impressionists. "Light on top of dark" in oil paint...(Watercolor being an exception to that process) and that is just the iPhone zoom's decision making. Not nearly as complex as a neural net. .....BTW my career for 20 years or so, was professional painter. I think I have some insight on this topic.
