That's so simplistic... and untrue.
You do realize 'modern society' is a product of technological innovation, right? From fire and the wheel, to eye surgery, telephone and motor vehicles, and now AI. There are always pros and cons. IF technology "historically helps the powerful and puts people out of work" it would be hard to explain the current relative lack of slavery, and you not having to hunt and gather your food everyday. Or the fact that you can sit at home for hours scrolling your phone, protesting the powerful, and ordering food in. Just be honest & fair rather than making simplistic statements. Technology almost never serves primarily just group (or if it does, it's not for long) just as it's never all good or all bad.
