I "steal" ai adoptables on deviantart by the thousands, trace them and tear the pieces apart, and then Frankenstein those pieces with other adoptable pieces to make temp refs for my ocs that I never show to anyone ever. They're just for me to get an idea of how the oc will look. They're also heavily edited to look more like my art style and also not horribly warped as ai images often can be. Fuck people selling ai shit like they actually made anything. Robbing the robber lol. Sometimes I also use the scenery pieces to Frankenstein a whole drawing rough draft before I draw the actual picture myself on a blank canvas. I don't consider any of the reference material I compile art, no matter how much I edit it. And I never share it anywhere or to anyone, much less claim it's "my art".
