@shin_goose Who said Tesla’s system is fully autonomous? No one. It is a Level 2 system right now. It is probably the best performing one available on the most roads but level 2 nonetheless. It is meant to be used with driver supervision. Tesla drills this home when you first enable it and every single time you use it. Anyone who says otherwise is just spreading misinformation. I should know after 180k miles. There is no ambiguity. You say that the general public should not have their hands on any autonomous driving system. I agree but what does this have to do with Teslas in 2022? Again as a Level 2 system it requires supervision. Much like a 15 year old brand new driver being able to drive with a permit as long as a parent or other responsible adult with a license is present to supervise. We’ve all accepted this teenager permit scenario as ok on our streets/roads. If you realize that a licensed adult who is supervising Autopilot or FSD beta is really no different than an adult in passenger seat supervising the teenage driver it really does make sense that this is not a risky proposition. In fact it is arguably safer to supervise Autopilot or FSD beta than supervising a teenager since with Autopilot you are literally sitting in the driver’s seat and can take over more quickly and effectively.
