AI is a useful tool, but it's NO substitute for a man that knows what he's doing! One of my newly hired colleagues just tried to outdo me with his ChatGPT made excel sheet. I've been making statistics and smart macro sheets for 13 years as a self taught coder and statistician. The code our new guy made was pretty good at automating simple tasks like creating mail merge and auto fill. But the problem was he couldn't refine it to insert custom fields and differentiate between user input parameters and automatically resolved figures. I asked how he managed this much progress so fast without understanding the basics for the job and that's when he confessed he used AI assistance. I said that's great, but can he program in visual basic to refine how his table works? He said he can code, just not in VB. So, he created something he couldn't understand or edit or upgrade but he immediately wanted to convince our bosses he was the better man for the job. I don't usually brag with my tables, but I had to show the higher-ups this time what I'm working with. If you want my job, you have to put in at least as much work as I have, otherwise you'll have a hard time squeezing me out! No AI can fill in for a decade of human wisdom!
