1. I am pretty sure you can.
2. If you dont have a reference, then you just make stuff up.

And you can just describe them to them, and see what they make.

It actually does not. It has been feed billions of images of anatomically correct hands, and it still has problems with doing this.
And it also does not work anything like a human, being proven to be nothing in its „thinking” like any animal.
