I use LLMs entirely differently in coding, the planning phase with picking tools and coming up with basic architecture is my job, along with splitting the entire project to bite sized chunks I can snap them together like lego pieces, then I have the LLM implement individual components or functions one at a time while instructing it on the exact input output contract I am dictating, then we go straight to output evaluation and testing.
my way is painless and doesn't produce useless code because the scope is always tightly defined and precise.
