It's irrational to keep inefficient humans in the industries to give them incomes to have access to the goods/services that are price-tagged because of the scarcity that is due primarily to the inefficient human labor that produces them. The more the goods/services are produced by humans rather than automation, the lower the productivity, the lower the inventory, the higher the prices, and therefore the higher the need for incomes, the higher the need for human employment that is less efficient. Fixation with human employment is a self-defeating viscious cycle.
Importantly, there's a difference between "jobs for incomes" and "work for other than money". Jobs along with the need for incomes should be eliminated by automation & its optimal productivity, so that humans can engage more in genuinely _meaningful_ work. Scientists, for instance, should work for the sake of discovering truths, not for the sake of maintaining the tradition of human employment.
