MMDE Why does it need to change? If you own a car, you need to carry insurance on it and are ultimately responsible for it regardless of who or what is driving it. Period. That is how it works today and this system works fine. It shouldn't change and doesn't need to change. This is not about "drivers" this is about financial responsibility! Both insurance companies determine who's car was at fault and then the owner's insurance pays up. Done.
Trying to change the way present laws work will drastically delay the use of autonomous cars. We already have adequate laws in place, stop bitching about this shit and just bring on the damned driverless cars!
