The "what will you do when you need to fix a doorknob/car/speaker etc without ai?" thing is as dumb as teachers/professors saying "you wont always have a calculator in your pocket" back in the day. Its a new technology on the level of smartphones that will never leave us at this point, so you will ALWAYS able to find a solution to problems with ai just like how we ALWAYS hold a calculator (phone) in our pockets.
I also dont get the grit thing. People will get grit overtime by just living due to all the hardships in life, and students dont need to try understand something for days or weeks when a teacher (or a chatbot becuz most teachers wont go out of their way to help you) could just explain it to you. Maybe im wrong or i missunderstood something so im ready to change my opinion if someone brings up valid arguments, but for now i just dont get all the hate ai gets in the educational system.
