As much as I agree with most of what he’s trying to convey, I don’t understand the fixation on jobs. It’s not like having a job is something humans fundamentally require. Reducing the need for human labour, especially on boring and repetitive tasks, is a good thing! If we can produce the same amount of stuff, while working less, everyone should be happier as a result. The problem is that (especially in America) humans need to prove their worth in order to get to enjoy the things society produce. If you’re not of use to someone else, you don’t get to eat. That’s what needs to be changed: we need to distribute the products made by these ”robots and AI” so that everyone gets to enjoy them, without requiring the input of human labour to qualify.
