AI can significantly outperform humans in terms of productivity, but it does make mistakes and often lies about it. A programmer can’t fix that because it’s a neural network, so at least in the near term people will be needed to provide instructions, validate the results and make some changes to the results.
If AI replaces all the jobs and consumers, then no one will be buying services. That may force businesses to change their relationship with people or go bankrupt.
If humans create an evil omnipotent computer god, then we get what we deserve. Perhaps it could benevolent and kind instead. Seems like these guys are assuming it will be the former.
