I think the biggest long term shift won’t just be more online, it’s how default digital mediation becomes for everything. Socializing, learning, even identity building all happened with an audience or some kind of feedback loop baked in. One thing I’m curious about is attention and decision making over time. Growing up with constant inputs might make Gen Z way better at filtering noise, or the opposite where it’s harder to sit with slow, deep work. Could go either way depending on the person. Also feels like norms around privacy and relationships will be very different. If your whole life started semi-public, the baseline for what feels “normal” to share is already shifted compared to older generations. I don’t think it’s all negative though. There’s probably a level of global awareness and adaptability that previous generations just didn’t have at that age. The tradeoff is still kind of unclear.
