Adding to the thing about "accessibility." What you are seeing is normal tech sunk cost to onboard people and pump the business scam. OpenAI has cost hundreds of billions. If we redistributed the cost of OpenAI to everyone in the USA, I'm sure they could afford a sketch book, 3 whole pencils, and maybe even a couple art tutoring classes
