i think, for a lot of pro-AI-art people, the concern is about making something without having to go through the tedious process of learning and improving . that's not a necessarily bad thing to want (and DON'T start with the "it requires patience" because i know a lot of anti-AI artists who still wish it was easier to create art) but it's the *method* that is the issue. it's unethical because of where it's sourced from and how it works, and people also tend to use it unethically the whole kind of conversation regarding AI for artistic purposes in general is difficult since it calls into question the value of effort and the idea of what art is in the first place, but it's safe to say AI art cannot be equivalent to art created from scratch and I'm not just talking about quality. i could go on more in detail but I'm really tired rn lol
