Just because something can be automated does not mean it's more profitable. I am a dairy farmer we have had robot to milk and feed our herds for over 30 years yet the % of milk that comes from robot farms are 1%. It's simply a much higher ROI to take the same capital and invest it into larger infrastructure and larger equipment and hire people to do these jobs. AI gets more exspensive as it scales and to the extent people to do get laid off the supply of workers compared to jobs will drive down wages and it will be cheaper to hire people. This is just a mis understanding of basic economics and everyone just assumes the AI will be able to do the jobs as good and for less money and that's simply not the case besides some very basic stuff like data entry. Once you get into the world of atom's and have to do manual labor tasks in all different weather and each task is different it's simply just much cheaper to have humans do it. I mean the robot milkers not catching on is a great case in point because that's the easiest thing to automate because it's very repetitive, non mobile and in a climate controlled barn. I managed a dairy with robots and it works decent at a small scale but otherwise it's to exspensive and unreliable.
