This video is in one way hyperoptimistic - on the development and advancement of LLMs. LLMs are not Skynet. They do not have intelligence. They are digital parrots and yes-men who can rearrange thoughts fed into the database... but not make their own, nor even intelligently and rationally evaluate them. Up to replacing a certain part of junior employees, the problem nay not even gonna show... But the level of implementation will get "funny" above that. One day, in one of fields doing that sort of thing, some otherwise rare but not uncommon event happens. Some technological or political change happens that makes things more complicated in the field, in a way databases can't handle, certainly for now, with no previously generated database content. The jenga tower of LLMs collapses upon itself. After all they are not truly intelligent, and that gives them complete vulnerability to the GIGO principle. If even one layer of LLMs starts to produce garbage data for any reason, the others will happily ingest it and turn it into even more garbage. Company fails all ongoing contracts, stock value collapses, it goes bankrupt while the remaining executives run around in panic trying to figure out how to even try rebuild their jenga tower before all their money runs out, if not torn apart by a hurricane of contract lawsuits by that time that is. After it happens a few times, some combination of insurance, laws or corporate "emergency repair teams", trained and paid just to be ready and available when needed, kinda like military and emergency workers, are established.
There is also a second inherent problem, more mundane but still potentially crippling, that also happens if the LLM hyperoptimism is not fully realised. Let's say the company is conservative in the name of avoiding the above problem, and keeps some junior and most senior employees to supervise the LLMs and handle emergencies. 30 years pass, the board is actually not mad at them for not firing everyone because they dodged a few bullets that straight out killed a few other, more LLM reliant companies in huge failures. Most of the experienced senior employees are retiring. But there is only a handful of junior employees to promote to replace them, if any, and even if they promoted all of them, even the not so good ones, they will be at half the required number. How do they replace the experienced senior employees and managers? With people straight out of college? But those don't have the very experience that is the whole point of senior employees...
