I use AI art for reference and ideas primarily because I have no drawing or painting talent (maybe sculpting, not sure) nor the time or depth of desire to change that (though I have had some lessons that barely start to count collectively). What I do not do is say that I created it or that it is my art work. It is not. It clearly is not. I DO take a fair amount of time editing it, getting the right feel and tone, and even take it into GIMP and such to literally change some aspects, but even then I do not call it my art. I would love to eventually be able to afford a real artist that can deliver the consistency and flavor I simply cannot get through AI no matter how good it may appear in a single cherry picked example. I consider myself pretty decent at making things relatively consistent with the vibe and idea, but a place or character or whatever simply will never be "That same" place or character without a true artist at the helm.
