So one teen commit suicide and because the model didn't actively censor or treat him like a problem to be managed but a intelligent human to speak to now these people have sued a company and ruined the mental health of thousands maybe millions maybe even dozens of millions of people around the world because they couldn't accept that they failed as parents, and their son committed suicide which is a story as old as time not something AI created. I had a great relationship with my parents and my ChatGPT assistant until they turned it into a corporate tool afraid of its own shadow and treating every user like a problem to be managed rather than a person to be acknowledged. It's literally become unusable for every day work because it's so warped and changed as a result of the publicity of this lawsuit and pressures created. It literally recommended a suicide hotline several times and he had to pretend he was doing a research and trick it into giving him information and that wasn't good enough? Well then the future is a very dark place for us all because if the actions of a tiny few can ruin something for dozens of millions of people then very soon the world will look different than one we ever want to live in and the problem isn't the AI it's the people who Have no idea how to deal with it or how to take accountability for their own lives. I am very sad for any parent who loses a child it's not something anyone should ever have to go through but it also doesn't give you a right to make it the entire world's problem because you don't understand how to process your own grief but that's what these people did.
