58 yo IT guy here who recently got displaced by internal politics and reorgs unrelated to AI, though I was working on implementing AI Automation. I worked in IT for 40 years and do not need to go back to work, especially for another boss. I think later this year two big news items are going to hit and cause massive c-suite panic and grow the AI backlog to levels that will shock and split the market. The news? 1. AI Agent worker subscriptions will hit the market and PROVE they work and can replace bodies. 2. Some Quantum player (hopefully Google or IBM), will strike gold with a massive discovery in Health or Material science disrupting that sector.
