Where they are fundamentally wrong is that the ai takes the soul out of the art. Part of the ‘soul’ is each meticulous line drawn and with colors chosen and placed. It’s not about the tools, it’s about what the artist wants to express themselves to either their self or others. AI ‘art’ is incapable of replicating the human touch. Even with all the advancements if you know what you’re looking at you can absolutely always tell.
AGI independently creating artwork would be an entirely different discussion, but the LLM style image generation is not art, it’s theft.
