It's one thing when the student asks ai to explain the topic in a simpler words to understand and it's another thing when the student just copy-pastes what ai wrote without even reading. And I assure you, most and I repeat MOST of the students who use ai use it the second way I described rather than the first. Even using ai the first way I described is harmful as you admitted yourself later in the video bc it hinders the development of critical thinking and problem solving. And no ai isn't gonna "enhance" anything, it's not a mentor at least bc you know that what mentor says is true bc they have years of studying and working in the field while ai can just say whatever and you will believe it. Besides the mentor will always strive for your personal growth instead of simply scoring as high as possible on this exact task while ai does exactly the opposite. And no I don't think ai should be used in education AT ALL. At most I can allow its usage is maybe helping teachers a little with designing those tests you showed that take 2 hours a day but that's the end of it. I think those tests should be designed by teachers nonetheless and not rely heavily on ai, ai can be integrated only in software development stage but not on question-answer development stage. And no, being against ai in education is not bias it's normal🥴 and besides idk where you found calculators being allowed in classroom but in my country it's never allowed, it's allowed only in university via Excel during statistics math course where you're taught not counting skills but statistics formulas using skills so it's a completely different thing, but never at school during general math. So yeah ai in education is unacceptable at most it can be used is as summary of a lot of information or something FOR TEACHERS but never for students. Bc I assure you, once the students are given access to "a little" ai for "good" reasons they will undoubtedly and surely use it for bad, undermining their education altogether.
