The entertainment industry has already abundantly broached the dangers of AI but people arent listening. I grew up as a child with Star Trek. I was 11 when it started in 1966. Truly ahead of its time. The first Star Trek movie in 1979 warned of AI where perfect machines were purging the ancient Voyager ll spacecraft of “ infective carbon units” which turned out to be imperfect organic life, ie humans!!!! Then there was Terminator with Sky Net which was trying to eradicate humans…. Also Blade Runner, 2001 A Space Odyssey, The Matrix, and Ex Machina to name a few. People arent extrapolating the existential threat that AI poses when it can be used for evil as well as good and not to mention the myriad of scenarios we haven’t even thought about yet.
