Out of her depth talking about empire, probably because she's not thinking very critically about capitalism. There is no corporate empire without the state, the Thielites think there is an outside but whenever there is any conflict between the state and capital the state wins. Jack Ma is a nice example of how that process operates in China and Musk leaving the WH with a black eye is the US equivalent. The empire of the state v the empire of the corporates is not how it's shaking out. The state is a necessary enabler for big business, business doesn't have an equivalent influence on the state.
