"artwork created by humans shouldn't be an all-you-can-eat buffet for training AI models" this is a false argument, we really need to be discussing is how " training " and the analogous human action of " viewing ". So for example an artist wouldn't be allowed to sue any eye company for training it's models on artwork that could only be viewed in a private event or through purchase for some site, but any representation publicly available even a lower resolution advertisement for a piece of artwork display on the internet should be completely valid to train on. We've litigated these types of issues many times before things like deep linking, and content theft are two examples that come to mind. But this blanket "I'm an artist or creative in everything that I have in every possible facet of its interpretation is owned by me " is fucking bullshit. This is why we have fair use and I'm really sick of the narrow scope of artists on everything. Because in reality artists very rarely own anything they sign their rights over to larger corporations who then use that copyright to bludgeon any encroaching commerce
