Sal Khan, I was skeptical but you have made me less so. As you said, if proper guardrails are there, AI would be great as a supporter but so far technology has been used by manipulators with less than good intentions. So yes some regulations are necessary otherwise self-interest would dominate to defeat its purpose! The key is that thinkers and philosophers need to be as involved in policy making as are the scientists and technologists.
