As someone who used to be kind of on the side of Generative AI in the sense of "As long as it's not being used for commercial reasons, I don't have a problem with it"... yeah, I've been quickly turning on it the more it's being used for commercial reasons. I think another thing that's kinda put the nail in the coffin of me supporting Generative AI is, ironically, AI Music. That stuff just sounds absolutely soulless in a way AI Art looks soulless. I genuinely think Generative AI's gonna die out in the next year or so because... it's just been rejected. They didn't do a good job selling artists on Generative AI and they made their intentions with the technology known WAY too quickly; they weren't trying to get artists to adopt it... they wanted to replace the artist because then they wouldn't have to pay an artist to make work for them. And at this point, it feels like the reputation for Generative AI has completely tanked.
