'Way too many people blindly trust AI'. Yeah. We can pay for a fake 'reality' - - - or become digital nomads - committing to nothing, subscribing to nothing, keeping one's information to oneself (as much as one can), creating our own databases, and scavenging around the edges of the internet. The vast majority will succumb to their digital overlords and be fat (but poorer, more stupid, and less happy). But the nomads will create a whole new world for themselves and the likeminded, often on the fringes of the 'pay for play' platforms, sometimes passing through, but never imprisoned and enslaved within the walls of the establishment. Or we can just curl up with a few good books, and share them with friends. Will we be missed by the crowd? No more so than cattle on a feed lot, fattening up for the slaughter, miss the open range.
