I was told that tech was going to bring about a "golden age" by liberals for decades in Seattle. Here we are. Now the Republicans have control over much of the AI, and even the liberal tech leaders sit at the table with Trump. Tech was always some sort of quasi-private military research and development scheme, imo. The liberals previously fawned over ruthless oligarch Bill Gates, then Bezos, out of some deference to high IQ people and to show the "ingnorant" conservatives that stuff only gets done with brainpower and education. Whelp, it didn't quite turn out the way for any of us who aren't wealthy, as it all proved to be an elaborate paywall and job replacement scheme. It's almost as if the public was sold a lie to make the oligarchs even more rich and powerful, even as the working poor went out and protested about identity politics.
