There was a time when a good portrait could only be done by a painter and was not only very expensive but took a lot of your time. when the camera was invented and perfected most people stopped paying painters. the painters said at the time that photographers weren't doing "art" and a photo was an inferior soulless option. the people didn't care because most people just wanted to preserve a memory and photographs were faster and cheaper. when cameras started to be mass produced photographers said that those cheap cameras where an inferior option to their professional equipment and skill.....but the people didn't care because they weren't looking for professional results in the first place and many photographers took a hit on their business. AI is the same...it's giving the common people a new option to do something they couldn't do before without a great effort....and what most artist don't understand is that for most people it doesn't mean to try to replace them but rather to not be constrained by them... if you don't have years to learn to draw at the quality you want or don't have the money to pay an artist ....now you get a new option. there is a lot of people that have ideas they can't put into the world because you have to be lucky to get to be an artist at the quality you desire. most people don't have the time or resources to get their drawing skills over the level of a kid and it takes years of practice to get to a professional level of quality.... most people didn't have the luck to get there because....life happens. the only artist that have to be afraid are the ones that already were using their skill to make slop in the first place, those are the ones at risk.
