Robotaxis go point-to-point (without anyone farting near you or assaulting you). Public transit is less convenient for almost everyone unless they live right by a transit station. The park example in the video is a great illustration of poor transit planning. Exactly zero people live in the park which reduces the utilization and convenience of that station. The case would be more compelling if there were high density housing surrounding the station, which is rare in all but a few US cities.
Everywhere else robotaxis will be preferred over mass transit because they take you point-to-point.
