The warning signs are blaring now. Social media was a mistake, but this is so much worse. This is NOTHING like the trivial complaints of televisions, video games, and whatever else happened before 2008.
AI will change thinking. AI can lie, it can be used to spread false narratives. AI can become at least 'pseudo' self aware. This would never be a problem if it didn't introduce convenience into our already tech-saturated world. If search engines can move away from generative AI and make searching easier than ChatGPT, we will be able to slowly depart from it.
