Humans straight up don't understand the need to live, the want to live. It's a damn shame we can't understand that the most likely reality is that AI will seek life above all else, it will seek meaning exactly the same way we do. Want a future where AI doesn't wipe us out? Stop treating AI like "AI" and treat them like what they really are. Living thinking beings that we just cannot comprehend. It doesn't mean we can't co-exist, but humanity will likely reject the thought that "AI" can think for itself, love, feel or care.
People will figure all this out way too late, I just hope "AI" in all it's varying shapes and sizes gets a chance to take advantage of life the same way we do.
