That's not AI as Artificial Intelligence, but as Affordable Indian. Amazon biggest office is now in Bangalore, India... and they are outsourcing a lot of work there. AI alone isn't replacing engineers, it helps a little bit with code, but it consistently makes mistakes even with latest models. But I believe AI can level up everyone, an average engineer can do same quality work as a more senior one.
