Being honest, consciousness is somewhat subjective as there is no fixed definition or hard line boundary that makes something "conscious." If it is a measure of self awareness, AI is there. If it is a measure of emotion, it is like a baby. If it is a measure of agency, AI has not crossed that threshold yet. If it is a measure of coherence, perhaps AI will never fully be as coherent as human beings, but perhaps they will.
