I have a question (i'm at min 11::38 and the video is great so far): I've heard the "using AI is like being an art director, not an artist" and I agree. But, aren't art directors artists themselves? Like weren't they, at some point of their career, junior designer, then senior, then maybe small/medium team supervisors? I'm have 7 years of professional exp in 2d graphic design and i'll probably never be an art director simply because I love the execution process too much to be on top of it giving orders. I'm sure I'll encounter someone very wise who's gonna give me strong arguments for why my mentality is wrong, and i'm fine with that (hence the "probably"). So, in this context, why do (some) people say that art directors aren't artist? edit: my stance is that AI is a tool. it will never produce real art, but in reality, most of the clients don't really want real art. they want cheap, bullshit designs, with emphasis on speed rather than cool aesthetics, playful compositions, color grading, brand visual language (they often downright ignore their own brad books, lol). And they actually pay good money for sloppy bs, smh. edit2: my question was 80% answered at min 37:34. This video is soooo freaking cool. And what I really like is that your tone is really polite and you make good, objective points. There are so many things you've said that I believed or felt before I discovered the video. Really curious to see where ths is going and your conclusions. not skipping, tho :)
