I think it really depends on the context. Let's consider two scenarios:
scenario 1: A large game company like Ubisoft begins using AI art instead of hiring artists. This is obviously not good. The artists loses and the product loses quality; everyone loses except the company.
scenario 2: A new start-up game company run by 1 person with $2.17 in their bank makes a game. He uses AI art in his first project because its between that and not having any product at all. I can't see an issue with this. No artist was replaced with AI here, if there wasn't AI there just wouldn't be a project at all.
Also, why's everyone so up in arms about the word "retard" all of a sudden? Where I live, me and everyone I know have always had this word prominently in out vocabulary and until very recently I've never seen anyone have an issue with it
