What's never discussed in length is the relationship between our works, world and deep meaning of existence.
The planet will remain with its usual bounty and resources for the needs of man. This Ai issue seems to effect urban mindsets and those within the general urban society wherein the hyper specialization of the workforce combined with a divorce of practical skills of self reliance has created a dependency on this world system of labor and consumption. What I think would happen is a bit of spiritual awakening in the sense that when a tool no longer serves us in our lives we simply retreat back to a more physically primitive existence with a heightened maturity of the deeper facets of our conscious relationship with physical life and the universe around us. It'll force us into a hyper creative space either with Ai or divorced from it. It could potentially eradicate a large portion of the population and what remains pivots to something more primitive perhaps parallel to the emptiness that is the result of hyper technological evolution of society. You can see it now, the increasing divide between urban humanity and "earthen" humanity.
