artists are gatekeepers. as a furry who lives in the US, i have the privilege of being able to hire an artists to furry artwork. however this privilege is mostly non-existent to those who live in poor countries and poor people struggling in the US. if you live in Mexico where minimum wage is I believe $15 a day, good luck hiring a furry artist in the US. and if you're a furry artist in Mexico, you're going to want to sell art to someone in the US who can pay substantially more than another furry in Mexico. If you look at furry social networks, if is obvious that people in the US have more access to artists than people who live in poor countries. But artists don't care about the poor and they never will. And I have furry friends from countries like Brazil, they use AI to create AI art of their fursonas. Sure, the AI artwork might not be as good as a human artist, but it is better than nothing. AI also makes it easier to experiment. I suck at writing resumes so I tried hiring someone to write a resume for me. But AI let me to create a decent resume for the first time ever. If there was something I didn't like, AI made it easy to try out different ideas. But professional resume writers would argue that AI is "stealing" their creations. With AI, artists are coming out of the closet as greedy capitalists. Fsck capitalism.
