What do you mean by a bubble bursting, because typically I see that used in the context of the stock market, but a bubble bursting might not lead to the results you’d think it would. For example, the dotcom bubble bursting was a huge economic event, but it didn’t lead to the end of the internet or even stop the internet from becoming a technology that everyone uses in many corners of their life. An AI bubble bursting would similarly likely lead to a short-term de-emphasis on associating AI with everything, but it wouldn’t stop the overall development and integration of AI technologies. I am not optimistic in us being able to put that genie back in the bottle, though at the same time, the idea that everyone’s job might be replaced by AI might not happen either. There’s a lot that AI might not be able to do as well as people. It might be that AI is ultimately best as a tool, but not a replacement. It’s hard to know, but it’s also fair to be worried.
