- Copyright doesn't protect from generative AI training.
- I agree AI companies could share the revenue with artists, but then again the right holders are usually not the artists,
- Or, offer the AI models for free to everyone(sell the compute, no problem).
- Authorship is overrated. Creative works stand on the shoulders of previous creations.
- Copyright is a terrible workaround: a (not-so) temporary monopoly limiting people's access to culture in a society that couldn't find a better way to reward creators without pushing them to sell those monopoly rights to publishers and distributors.
- Copying is not theft. Attribution is honourable.
