And these companies reducing their bottom line by replacing employee wages with AI in the short run is beneficial to their balance sheet and shareholders however who are going to sell their product or service to in the future? Autonomous rigs delivering products to which buyer? A tradesman with a skill that AI can't replicate is supposedly safe and will sell his labour to forever unemployed masses? When the steam engine came on board and industrialised manufacturing our world population less than half it is today and the life expectancy in much of the world was much lower. The "new" service jobs that were created to support the industrial revolution and again in the IT revolution of the past 30 years do not have enough cohorts to replace job loss from the AI revolution(certainly not in ratio to our population)
